Looks like they did a time skip! I hardly recognize some of the characters like Buckingham, who is now taller than Richard and voiced by Sugita.
And Edward looks like a carbon copy of his father. That must've been hard for Anne to see him grow up.
King Edward has now basically given in to his carnal desires and started hosting orgies in his castle with the help of his new lover Jane who claims to be a Witch

Same. The series states often enough Richard carries both genders and none at the same time.
This could mean in abstract sense, being physically female and preferring a male identity but I guess the show could either mean it literally.
Beside of that they used different vocabulary in that time, which means they wouldn't have words that defines Richards gender identity on point.
So they would help themselves phrasing it vaguely.
